This is a good violin which bears the stamp "nach Klotz" but there is no label. It has the typical elongated Klotz shape: length of back 14 inches, upper bout 6.5 inches, lower bout 8 inches. I assume it dates from the turn of the twentieth century.
The violin is very well flamed. There is one small glued and stable f hole crack. It is currently fitted with Goldring strings which are gut strings covered with metal - like Eudoxas - except the E string which is a Hill.
