Violin - Gama 2
Typically sold to adult improvers, folk fiddlers, teachers, freelance professionals as a backup instrument, young players of Grade 5 up to Grade 8. We will not make silly claims and describe this instrument as suitable for first instrument study at a conservatoire but we will and do say confidently that it will be entirely adequate for Grade 8 study and probably DipABRSM (especially the violas and cellos).
This violin is described by Gliga as the professional model. It is made in a different building, and by a more skilled group of craftsmen, than the Gems instruments. It is well flamed.
As with all violins of this quality level, the price is for the violin only. Suggested outfits might include a rectangular styrofoam case and a Hidersine 5065 or Glasser 2000X bow, or for more advanced players a rectangular woodshell case and a Glasser carbongraphite or a Hidersine 5069 bow. However these are only suggestions. If you are a good enough player to need a Gama, you will probably have your own ideas. Or check out the suggested packages.
The picture shows a typical Gama but every one is an individual. It is shown as I receive it, with factory strings and one adjuster. As standard, I fit Dominant strings, plus four adjusters to 4/4 - 1/2 size, or a Wittner ultra tailpiece to 1/4 and below. If you prefer any other combination that is fine and any extras will be charged only at the actual cost to me.
Here you can hear a 3/4 size Gama which has been well played in - the player (Grade 7 standard) is in one of the National Children's Orchestras.
