I have a feeling this is Czech but I have nowhere near enough experience to be sure in the absence of a label. The auction I got it from described it as early 20th century but I am not convinced that it is that old. I do think it is pre 1950 though. It is fitted with a metal tailpiece with four built in adjusters. The violin has one f hole crack which is glued and perfectly stable.
The case which is hard shell is perfectly functional although one bow holder is missing. There is a basic bow which is quite straight and functional although the screw is quite hard to tighten.
New D'addario Ascente strings will be fitted.
